Problem Overview
Complaint: Coolant leaks around the thermostat housing area, a low coolant level, or the smell of coolant during engine operation or after operation.
Cause: A cracked thermostat housing will result in a coolant leak, potentially leading to engine overheating and damage.
Visual Inspection: Carefully inspect the thermostat housing for cracks or damage.
Pressure Test: Perform a coolant system pressure test to ensure the system maintains pressure and observe for leaks at all split lines, including the
thermostat housing and coolant crossover manifold.
