THE ISSUE:
The force in which the branch tube breaks free has everything to do with when the failure happens. If while under load and the force is the greatest, the branch tube can actually break the rear case cover resulting in catastrophic failure.
To replace the failed or worn rubber grommet requires removal of the engine or transmission and removing the rear engine case cover. To replace the branch tube requires all that work and then much more.
THE DIESELSITE SOLUTION:
This part repairs a failed rubber grommet, prevents a bolt from vibrating loose, and completely prevents a quick connect failure from ever happening in the first place.
Installation involves removing the high pressure oil pump (HPOP) cover, slipping the line lock over the branch tube hex and then tapping into place until it seats. It is machined to be a perfect fit over the branch tube hex, aligning with the branch tubes and grommet bolt and will only seat in one position. The cover prevents the lock from ever unseating or lifting after installation so it cannot drop into the motor.
