Installation
Notes/Best
Practices:
Cooler flushing, scan equipment, and required programming should
be top priorities to maintain the warranty.
Solenoid body
identification and
strategy:
You must program your PCM/TCM to the 13-number solenoid
body strategy, and the 8-digit solenoid body identification provided
on the transmission, a solenoid body strategy data download is
required.
Notice: Failure to program the solenoid body strategy and solenoid body
identification numbers will cause damage to the transmission and
cause drivability concerns. If you are not equipped to download the
solenoid body identification and strategy data file, you will be
required to find a source capable of completing the programming.
Cooler: The cooler in the radiator and/or external cooler must be flushed
with a hot flush machine for a minimum of 1 hour, flushing in both
directions. If the cooler cannot be flushed, it must be replaced.
* Certain applications use a factory stand-alone OTA (oil to air)
cooler, these cannot be properly flushed and require replacement
prior to installing the transmission.
* If equipped with a PTO (Power Take Off), it must be flushed out.
Failure to clean the PTO can result in metallic contamination of the
transmission.
