The BTR PMD Relocation Kit is the proven solution for the common failure of the Pump Mounted Driver (PMD) on 1994–2000 Chevy and GMC 6.5L Turbo Diesel engines. The factory PMD is mounted directly to the injection pump, where it is exposed to extreme heat and vibration—leading to frequent stalling, hard starting, hesitation, and costly repairs.
This kit allows you to relocate the PMD to a cooler, more accessible location such as the front bumper, radiator support, or behind the grille. By moving the PMD out of the engine bay, you dramatically reduce heat-related failures and make future service much easier.
Each kit includes a high-quality aluminum heat sink cooler, a 5.5-foot extension harness compatible with both black and grey PMD units, and all necessary mounting hardware. The plug-and-play design means no cutting or splicing—simply connect the extension harness to your existing pump harness and PMD, mount the cooler, and secure the hardware.
This relocation kit addresses the common PMD failure detailed in GM Technical Service Bulletin #77-63-06A, which recommends replacing or relocating the Fuel Solenoid Driver to improve reliability.
