The factory turbocharger inlet pipe is an air flow restriction when trying to increase the performance of the L5P Duramax Engine. The factory inlet pipe is also plastic and includes a “surge ring” that often needs to be removed for upgraded performance turbochargers.
The BD L5P intake horn replaces the plastic restrictive factory turbo inlet pipe, and allows greater air flow for increased performance. The pipe is manufactured from 3-1/2” 409 series stainless tubing, and features black powder coating for extra protection and performance appearance. The BD intake horn is a drop-in component that compliments upgraded larger turbos like the BD Diesel L5P Screamer Turbo!
